ITINERARY
DAY 01 – Mount Lavinia
On arrival you will be met by our English-speaking Chauffeur Guide. Thereafter, travel to your city hotel in Mount Lavinia very close to the commercial capital of Sri Lanka, and you’ll be staying in a hotel with a history spanning over 210 years, Mount Lavinia Hotel Colombo is one of the oldest hotels in Sri Lanka. This premier colonial heritage hotel has earned a reputation over the years for its magnificent structure and ambiance, the old-world charm which harks back to the grandeur of old Ceylon, a romantic legacy left by the colonial Governor General who used it as his residence.

DAY 02 – Mount Lavinia
After breakfast enjoy a city tour of Colombo, Sri Lanka’s commercial capital before doing some shopping at the many malls and shopping complexes. And enjoy an open deck Colombo bus ride to discover the history of city and the stories of some of its most prominent landmarks or spend the day relaxing in Mount Lavinia beach enjoying the hotel facilities with few cocktails.

DAY 03 – Sigiriya
After breakfast proceed to Sigiriya via Pinnawala & Dambulla.
Bidding farewell to Mount Lavinia this morning we drive inland to Sigiriya, stopping en route at Pinnawala Elephant orphanage & Dambulla. Dambulla Rock Temple is an incredible ancient complex of caves which dates to the 1st Century BC. The five caves contain over 150 images of Buddha including an impressive 14-meter carved statue.
After exploring ancient temple, you can spend the evening relaxing by the pool at your hotel in Sigiriya.

DAY 04 – Sigiriya
Enjoy a romantic early morning walk to Hiriwadunna village, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the nature and culture of a real Sri Lankan village life. The tour starts with a bullock cart ride near the village pond, and from there, you will experience a boat ride to the next side of the rural village. After a short walk through the paddy fields and vegetable cultivation, you can reach the village house. You can also try traditional things like making pottery, weaving, and cooking, giving you a real taste of the culture.
After you finish the village tour, you’ll be heading towards Minneriya National Park on a safari to see the majestic creatures of the wild in their natural habitat. It is a great way to experience Sri Lanka’s wildlife and nature, while being able to get up close and personal with elephants, deer, wild buffalo and a variety of birds. The Minneriya Wild Safari is a 4–5-hour tour.

DAY 05 – Kandy
Set of early in the morning to visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. One of Sri Lanka’s ancient fortresses which houses remnants of a kingdom from a by gone era. This famous ‘Lion Rock’ fortress built over 1500 years ago, this beautiful citadel stands 200 meters high in the middle of verdant jungle and was an important stronghold of the 70-hectare fortified town. It can be viewed from miles around and is one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic and famous sites. You’ll be able to view the world-famous paintings of the Heavenly Maidens which stand in a sheltered pocket of the rock approached by a spiral stairway.
Thereafter visit the Nalanda Gedige in Matale en route to Kandy. This South Indian style temple consists of an entrance hall connected to a taller shikara (holy image sanctuary), with a courtyard for circumambulations. There is no sign of Hindu gods, however, and the temple is said to have been used by Buddhists. It’s one of the earliest stone buildings in Sri Lanka. The temple’s richly decorated stone-block walls, reassembled from ruins in 1975, are thought to have been fashioned during the 8th to 11th centuries.

DAY 06 – KANDY
After breakfast take part in a city tour of Kandy – the last kingdom of the Sri Lankan kings before visiting The Temple of the Tooth Relic. The temple is of significant value to the Buddhists of Sri Lanka as it houses the Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha, the leader of the faith.
Kandy was brought under the British rule in 1815, this World Heritage Site & last royal capital of Sri Lankan kings – crafts an array of culture, history and heritage in the minds of visitors across the globe.
Spend the rest of your day relaxing by the hotel pool.

DAY 07 – NUWARAELIYA
At approximately 12.20 hours board the Expo Rail to Hatton and take in the beautiful scenery of the villages full of friendly people, lush green tea estates, gorgeous waterfalls and majestic mountains before you reach your destination Nuwara Eliya.
Enjoy your afternoon relaxing at the hotel after your exciting train ride.
Cool climate in Nuwara Eliya, remind visitors that they are within the range of the renowned British colonial retreat. Augmented by an English countryside atmosphere, the city of light – once governed by English & Scottish planters – is still studded with colonial bungalows, hedgerows & one of the finest 18-hole golf courses in the world.
A hike through the green grass and red-brick walls should present breathtaking views of a buzzing countryside hamlet.

DAY 08 – NUWARAELIYA
After breakfast enjoy a sightseeing tour together with a visit to a Tea Factory/ Plantation where you can experience firsthand the art of plucking and making tea. Talk to the friendly locals and enjoy a warm cup of tea in the cool climate.
Head back to your hotel and relax or enjoy the gorgeous scenery of the hills with a short walk at your leisure in the evening.

DAY 09 – Weligama
Head over to the South of Sri Lanka, Weligama after breakfast. The South coast of the Island is a popular destination for its beaches and the iconic Galle Fort. Remnants of the foreign invaders to Sri Lanka. Spend the rest of your day relaxing on the soft sandy beaches and listen to the calming sounds of the wave before heading back to your hotel.

DAY 10 – Weligama
Packed breakfast on board as the crew sets sail to search for the Sperm whales early in the morning. There is also a pretty good chance of blue whale sighting. Around 26 different species of whales traversing this region, and this includes the well-loved dolphins.
After returning to the hotel for lunch, relax at the pool & sun-kissed beach and do a bit of surf in Weligama beach with the waves.

DAY 11 – Hikkaduwa
Heading to Hikkaduwa. Conduct a city tour after breakfast including a visit to the Galle Fort which was built in 1588 by the Portuguese invaders before being taken over by the Dutch in the 17th century. The fort is a very popular destination of tourists and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then relax at the hotel in Hikkaduwa by lunch time to spend your final few days in paradise.

DAY 12 & 13 – Hikkaduwa
Relax in the palm dotted Hikkaduwa Beach, lined with restaurants and bars.
Hikkaduwa is a seaside resort town, it’s known for its strong surf and beaches, including the shallow waters opposite Hikkaduwa Beach shelter the Hikkaduwa National Park, which is a coral sanctuary and home to marine turtles and exotic fish.

DAY 14 – AIRPORT
After breakfast proceed to the Airport in time for the flight for your onward destination and mark an end to your exciting holiday in Sri Lanka, you’ll go with lots of love and memories after spending wonderful honeymoon in Sri Lanka.
