
ITINERARY
DAY 01 – NEGOMBO

Arrival at Colombo International airport and transfer to a beachside resort in nearby Negombo Town.
DAY 02 – HABARANA

You’ll set off early this morning to take a trek through an archetypal Sri Lankan village. You’ll begin at a wewa, or reservoir, where you can expect to see a huge range of birds, butterflies and perhaps crocodiles. You’ll also visit mango and banana plantations, as well as a buffalo farm, before having the rest of the day at leisure.
DAY 03 – SIGIRIYA

Today you’ll head off to climb the unforgettable Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Set amid the jungle, this complex includes water gardens, frescoes of beautiful maidens, the Mirror Wall with its ancient graffiti, and the Lion platform. You’ll then have the rest of the day at leisure to relax.
DAY 04 – KANDY

This morning after breakfast you’ll be driven to Kandy, stopping en route at the Dambulla Cave Temples, an amazing complex of five caves, used as a refuge by an ancient king who, on regaining his throne, commissioned magnificent carved images here. Later kings made further improvements, and the caves now contain over 150 images of the Buddha, dating from the second century BD to the 19th century AD. On arrival at Kandy you’ll check in to your hotel, before visiting the Royal Botanical Gardens and the Temple of the Tooth Relic.
DAY 05 – KITHULGALA

After an early breakfast this morning you’ll head to Kitulgala, famous as the filming location for The Bridge on the River Kwai, where you’ll take a thrilling white-water rafting trip. Afterwards you’ll continue to Nuwara Eliya, a hill resort known for producing some of the country’s best tea, where you’ll visit a tea plantation.
DAY 06 – UDAWALAWA

This morning you’ll proceed to Udawalawe, stopping en route at Bandarawela to explore this small rural hill town. You’ll take a stroll to soak up the laidback atmosphere before continuing to Udawalawe National Park, where you’ll enjoy an afternoon game drive. In this stunning unspoiled setting, a mixture of scrub jungle and wild teak plantations, surrounded by mountain ranges, you can expect to see elephants, deer, wild boar, buffalo, jackals and perhaps even a leopard. Afterwards you’ll continue to Yala.
DAY 07 – YALA

After a morning at leisure to relax and explore your surroundings, this morning you’ll take an afternoon game drive in Yala, Sri Lanka’s best known national park. Yala is known for its elephants, bears, crocodiles and wild boar, and is believed to be home to the world’s highest concentration of leopards per square kilometre.
DAY 08 – WELIGAMA

This morning you’ll proceed to Weligama and relax in the Beach.
DAY 09 – MIRISSA & GALLE

Mirrisa Whale watching, back to the hotel in Weligama and relax in the beach, in the evening visit Galle fort and market
DAY 10 – END OF TOUR

Weligama to Colombo Airport.
Today your wonderful ‘hands on’ tour of Sri Lanka comes to an end. You will be driven to the airport to catch an onward flight. You also have the option of extending your holiday by staying at one of the island’s many beautiful beach resorts and relaxing by the ocean after you eight day adventure.
